SATURDAY SERVICES
Saturday, September 13th, 10 am - 2 pm

Our Saturday opens have been successful. Please come on Saturday September 13th from 10am to 2pm. Chef Bob’s café serves a great lunch, balance class (at 11am), ping pong, pastel drawing, walking group, and so much more is offered. If these Saturdays prove helpful, worthwhile, and popular, we will offer many additional open Saturdays for 2015. Please join us and give us your good thoughts, ideas, and suggestions. Plan for Saturday, October 25th too.

MEMBERS ONLY LUNCHEON

MEMBERS ONLY LUNCHEON
Thursday, September 19th, 12:00 pm

Members are invited to join us on Friday, September 19th at noon for our Members’ Only Luncheon. This is also United Way’s Day of Caring. This year a Microsoft division has chosen us for their Day of Caring. This is a fun event. Punch and goodies served, followed by lunch and entertainment as we honor you our wonderful members. We thank Microsoft for their participation and help. “The Counter Balance Quartet” will perform @ 12:30pm!

WINE AND CHOCOLATE

ART, WINE, & CHOCOLATE
September 25th, 5 - 8 pm

This spectacular event is on Thursday, September 25th from 5pm to 8pm. We have a wide variety of lovely art forms from acrylics, to watercolors, to jewelry, to glasswork, to woodworks. A total of 20 or more artists’ masterpieces to view and purchase for yourself or as a great holiday gift. Sample six varieties of red and white wines and you can purchase your favorite to take home. Chocolatiers will offer a great variety of chocolates and enjoy hot and cold hors d’ oeuvres and desserts as you listen to the Ann Merryfield Jazz Trio. This will be a night to remember. Art, Wine, Chocolate, Jazz, and delicious appetizers and desserts all for just $20 per ticket. Get your ticket early and bring all your family and friends. Get your tickets early and enjoy a fun night of food, beverages,and Bingo! Food and beverages served at 6pm. Bingo and entertainer by the lovely Sylvia O’Stayformore from 7pm to 9pm. What a night! ANTIQUES APPRAISAL EVENT
Saturday, Oct., 4th - 10:00am-3:00pm
Our own Antiques Roadshow! Get those wonderful treasures out of your attic, cupboards and closets. Come to the Center to get up to 3 verbal appraisals by professional antique appraisers/dealers. Only $5.00 per item. All proceeds benefit our Center and this event is being sponsored by Northwest Senior Care. And Chef Bob will be offering his Famous Café Menu from 10:00am-2:00pm.

“LIVING WELL WITH DIABETES” WORKSHOP
Tuesdays, Oct., 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th , Nov., 4th & 18th
Board Room from 1:00pm-3:30pm

Cassidy Stout, MSW-Enhance Wellness Counselor & Project Coordinator - (Senior Services) “Living Well with Diabetes” (DSMP) workshop. Based on “Living Well with Chronic Conditions” (CDSMP) workshop developed by Stanford University as an evidence based program. This workshop is a conversation and information based group providing participants with skills and tools to better manage and live healthier with diabetes. Offered to: diabetics, at risk for diabetes, and caregivers for people with diabetes.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

2014 MEMBER DUES

Membership is a “good” deal for you. You will provide financial support for your Center. The Center serves around 4,000 individuals, but only between 300 and 400 actually pay dues. All members save on classes, trips, foot care and so much more. At 400 members the Center benefits financially $14,000. Just think if 1,000 joined the Center would receive $35,000 and up it goes with each new member. Dues are $35. We want to encourage you to each bring in one new member during 2014. So, if you forgot, Sign-up now.  Memberships are available at the center, by phone at (206) 297-0403 and online. Thank you.



HOLIDAY CLOSURES

Holiday closures are listed in our sidebar to the left. The Ballard NW Senior Center usually celebrates each holiday the Friday before if the holiday falls on a weekend. If the holiday falls during the week the Center will often celebrate the day before and then be closed during the holiday.

 dedicated to offering a wide selection of fun opportunities and helpful services.
